Mesh Colliders and manipulating them by Whitakerd
Hello, and welcome back to another wonderful update on Party Panic! Today I just finished up making my "Shock Top" Mini game. Everything went so smoothly except for one major hiccup! I couldn't actually go through the holes in the meshes I made! After reaching out to the ream I discovered that I can actually manipulate the colliders directly. However, that proved to be a whole new learning experience. After trying multiple different strategies for achieving proper collision, I ended up going down making my own custom collisions by adding a bunch of invisible actors to get the shapes I wanted. Needless to say, this was a very tedious process.
Then the solution came to me! I can change the collision complexity settings to use the more complex collision data! This allowed the collision to wrap around the mesh. This uses a lot more data but provides much more accurate results! The meshes now are able to block the players unless they shimmy though the holes I created in the middle of each with unique shapes. Thankfully Shock Top will live to see the final game and be a part of the Mini game Family.
